Nebula Cosmos

Got the Cosmos model couple weeks back. So far amazing. Was quick to setup and download & install the needed apps a breeze using existing google/gmail account. The interface is pretty nice and intuitive. The remote & the ios nebula connect app needs a serious review though. The ios nebula connect app is somewhat sketchy & freezes up on a iPhone 12 pro. It has very limited feature set & haven't found it useful thus far - end up using remote controller always which isn't easy to navigate either.

As far the image quality on to a 100" screen is amazing in the dark. The auto focusing feature is amazing. Throw & key correction features are nice & need very little tweaks get a good & steady image on the screen. Outdoor wifi enabled streaming from natively installed apps are great. Screen mirroring of content from phone is mostly prohibited for all major streaming apps(netflix, prime, etc.,). Have to install & use those apps on the projector itself.

The unit is very quiet, image & sound quality are excellent. Easily mounts on a sturdy tripod which allows easy adjustment of throw distance, height or angle of projection on to the screen. Thought it would be nice to have a longer power cable & also ability to run on battery charge. Overall it's a great experience having the Nebula Cosmos thus far. Hope to have both outdoor & indoor fun using it in the years to come!

Amazing for in home projection!

So, I got into projectors many months back. My wife got me an Apeman NM4 portable projector for fathers day (~100 lumens). It was great to begin with. We used it on the back porch at night, for outdoor movie nights. I plan to keep using it for such, and for travel, and camping. But, we ended up setting it up inside in our living room. It worked there, but, without keystone correction, it had to be sitting smack dab in the center of the room (with 3 long USB cords running from the wall to power the projector, FireTV Stick, & extra speaker). So, I started looking for something better. My friend got a larger AC powered Apeman projector after seeing mine. His is much brighter and better. But, only does vertical keystone.

I came across the Nebula Cosmos and was intrigued (Always had good luck with Anker products in the past). I watched reviews, and finally decided to take the plunge. So glad I did! Ok, so the brightness is obviously way better than what I had with 900 Lumens now. I can now watch TV during the day without straining my eyes due to a dark image. Yes, I have to close the curtains for best view. But, TV was almost not watchable with the Apeman NM4 during the day. At night, it looks amazing. Better than some of my flatscreen TV's! The keystone works great! I have this Cosmos on the side / corner of my room. I admit, it took me a while to get the keystone set right (maybe 15 minutes). Once I found the settings for quadrilateral keystone correction (which lets you adjust the screen in 4 parts) I got it setup perfectly! I used a small Manfrotto Pixi Evo tripod, which is rated to hold more weight than the Cosmos weighs. This unit takes up very little room, doesn't need an external speaker (it's speakers are actually really good!), and runs quiet! Every once in a while the fan will turn on, but, very seldom. Doesn't bother me at all, I hardly notice it. Had it about a month now, and it has been perfect. I hope it lasts for years and years (I have a 40" Samsung 1080 LED TV that I got in 2008 that still works like new; use it in my bedroom... It still has better brightness, contrast, and clarity than most new TV's; well, better than any sub $500 40" TV... Paid like $2,500 for it back 13 years ago when LED was just coming out!). I will try to update if there are any issues in the first 5 years. The Cosmos Max would be great; but, for double the cost I went with the standard Cosmos. Maybe in the future when prices come down, that will be my next projector. No need for it yet, this Cosmos is amazing as is! We have a 60" Samsung 4k flat screen in our TV room if we really wanted the absolute best image for movies. Honestly though, we have hardly used any of the 5 real tv's in the house since getting the Cosmos (unless in our bedrooms of course).

Another perk. I have a FireTV Stick Lite. I use it with this projector. I was going to use the included Android TV; however, the Netflix app is pretty bad, and, it doesn't have an app to play live, over the air TV, from my FireTV Recast. So, I hooked up a FireTV Stick Lite. This meant I would need two remotes; and, that's how I used it for days. Ok so, fast forward about a week. I am using the Nebula Cosmos remote, but, I am on the FireTV. I think I may have drank too much and was imagining things. But nope. My Nebula Cosmos remote now controls the Cosmos AND my HDMI plugged in FireTV Stick Lite. I did not set this up in any menus. It just was working somehow.

If you are on the fence, my vote is go for it!
