Title says it all. Barrel connector, mirroring barely works on most of my devices that do, do screen mirroring. Unless you mod your build or "get the secret version with just google apps loaded in advance" same as side loading, you can somewhat use the device. Personal issue is that i wasn't able to return and exchange and pay the difference for the Max II that i originally intended to buy, but their websites deceptive advertising failed to mention until i looked through reviews on amazon, and technical sheet besides having the physical unit. Its great and all, if you can get past the barrel connector, lack of lense screen protector filament but i personally hated this max model. If your reading this review, go for the CAPSULE II or capsule 2. Also auto keystone seems to mess up frequently for me, manual adjustment is more reliable with my current experience.
Good picture and does work with iPhone but you must have WiFi. The Bluetooth or mirroring will only work using adapter and HDMI if you have no available WiFi. Otherwise it is amazing.
A good projector, but will be promptly returned\exchanged for the capsule 2 in hopes of better function. Picture quality is crisp and clear*, apps function as they should, but the most basic feature is problematic for my use... The HDMI port. No matter the device, the wired connection has lagging issues to the point it can take 2 full seconds to generate the next frame.... Playing video games with this is impossible!
I hope it's just this specific unit and not all of the capsule series with this issue.
This is my first projector, so that's the context for my review.
The good news: I believe this device is working mostly the way it's intended and the eufylife support team plus the Anker user community have been very helpful. I will be using the Nebula Capsule Max for camping mostly, so I think it will do just fine for that purpose.
Kodi and the VLC players work great in combination with a high capacity USB drive of stored content.
The speaker is surprisingly clear with decent audio quality.
Fan noise is relatively low, but I have no other comparison to qualify my opinion.
The bad news: The apps and interface are pretty bad, but you start to get the hang of it over time. It won't allow me to watch purchased movies from YouTube. In fact, I can't even stream free movies from YouTube - Other streaming content from YouTube streams fine, as long as it's not a movie.
Using my Android Pixel 3a, I was hoping I could cast or Mirrorcast from my phone to the projector, but no. This has been well documented, so no need to repeat this issue.
It won't allow me to download any Netflix movies - Support sent me directions to update the Netflix app, but it involves a system restore and I'm currently weighing that decision and whether its worth it. It streams Netflix movies just fine and with the limited storage (16G) on the device, it's not really meant to store movies.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, despite the bugs and hiccups I've run into. I think this is a great "starter" projector .
